Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Today, it remains a Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for hikers organizing permits and transport for treks through Sikkim’s Himalayan mountain ranges.

There will be a Meet & Greet once you arrive at either NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport after which you will be transferred to Gangtok (5,500 ft.). Upon your arrival you will have to check-in to the hotel. Then you will spend the remaining day resting from the trip. You will spend the night at Gangtok.
After having your breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken for an excursion to the Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & the Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is at a distance of 55 kms one way from the city of Gangtok.
You will spend the night at Gangtok. (In case of any Land slide occurence or some other reason, Tsomgo Lake will be closed. In such a scenario, you will be provided with alternate sightseeing options.)
The next morning you will be taken for a half day trip of the city of Gangtok which will cover the Flower show, the Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, the Institute of Tibetology, the Dro-dul Chorten, the Enchey Monastery & the Banjakhri Falls (maximum 3-4 hours). After finishing the trip, you will return to the hotel and check-out. During the afternoon you will be taken for a drive to Darjeeling (6,950 ft.). Upon your arrival at Darjeeling, you will have to check-in at your new hotel. You will spend the night at Darjeeling.
You will be taken for an early morning (at 04:00 am) drive to Tiger hill (8,400 ft.) from where you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak. On your way back to the hotel, you can pay a short visit to the Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop. After finishing your breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken for a visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), the Tenzing Rock, the Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), the Tea Garden (outer view), the Ropeway and the Japanese Temple. The evening will be free for your shopping or leisure. You will spend the night at Darjeeling.
After finishing your breakfast, you will have to check-out from the hotel on time to take the departure transfer to either NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport for your return journey.
